10 YEARS OF RUSH
10 years since the debut of RUSH — our first large-scale production, and the beginning of a journey that would take Southpaw’s work across the country and beyond.
Born out of a deep desire to explore protest, power, and the collective voice, RUSH tackled themes that are just as urgent and resonant today as they were in 2014. It shone a light on the social and political movements that shape our communities — and celebrated the strength that emerges when people stand together.
RUSH was more than a performance — it was a turning point. It taught us the power of placing community at the heart of the work, of telling stories that are grounded in lived experience, and of using dance and spectacle to bring people together in shared spaces.
Since then, Southpaw has created work in streets, squares, tower blocks, theatres and festivals across the UK and internationally — always rooted in people, place, and purpose.
Here’s to 10 more years of bold, collaborative work that puts community voices centre stage.
