This policy outlines our commitment to continually improving our environmental performance, preventing pollution and effectively managing our significant environmental impacts.
2. Preventing Pollution and Managing Environmental Impacts
We will take all reasonable measures to prevent pollution and manage our significant environmental impacts. This includes, but is not limited to, minimising waste, reducing energy consumption, using sustainable materials, and managing our transportation and travel practices.
a) Transport: We will aim to use low-emission vehicles and reduce unnecessary transportation.
b) Waste Reduction: We will minimise waste, including from suppliers, and encourage the reuse and recycling of materials.
c) Efficient Use of Water and Energy: We will aim to reduce water and energy consumption and use renewable sources of energy where feasible.
d) Use of Sustainable Materials: We will use biodegradable chemicals and minimise the use of solvents and lead-based paints.
e) Sustainable Timber: We will use timber or wood products from sustainable (managed) forests.
f) Noise Pollution: We will establish procedures to minimise noise disturbance to our neighbours.
g) Phasing out of Ozone-depleting Substances: We will phase out the use of ozone- depleting substances in our operations.
3. Expectations of External Parties
We expect our suppliers and contractors to share our commitment to environmental responsibility and to adhere to the same or similar environmental standards as outlined in this policy.
4. Compliance with Relevant Environmental Legislation
We will comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations as a minimum level of performance. We will also strive to exceed these requirements wherever possible.
5. Education and Training
We will provide education and training on environmental issues and the environmental effects of their activities. We will also encourage employees to suggest ways in which we can improve our environmental performance.
6. Monitoring and Reviewing Progress
We will regularly monitor and review our environmental performance against targets and objectives. We will aim to conduct these reviews on a yearly basis.
7. Communication of Aims and Objectives
We will communicate our environmental aims and objectives to all staff, customers, investors, and other external stakeholders. We will also encourage feedback and suggestions on how we can further improve our environmental performance.
